Extremely pleased, May 25, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: SimplySleeper SS-49T Raised Twin Air bed (airbed / air mattress) with Built-in Electric Pump (Puncture & Stretch Resistant!). Best material in the market! The title of this product had a lot to live up to and I can say it deserves the title. Over the years, I may thrown away over 5 different air beds from various brand names including aerobed. The difference in this air bed so far is truly the material. It is definitely a heavier and tougher PVC than my old air beds. I don't mind the weight because it makes up for it in comfort. I also like the fact the pump has an ingenious overflow valve to prevent it from over inflating. I left it pumping for over 5 minutes and it didn't explode on me. I like sleeping on this bed more than my regular spring mattress. Should've bought this a long time ago. This is a little pricey, but at least I don't have to keep throwing away cheaply made airbeds. It also comes with 2 patches in case I puncture it with a sharp object. Anyway, this company/brand seems to be making good stuff from all the good reviews. Here's mine.

Best material in the market! I really wanted to like this bed. It's built really solid. You'd just about have to stab it with a knife to break through it. It's up pretty high off the ground, the built in pump works like a dream. And pretty quietly to boot!
So why 2 stars you ask? The most important aspect was horrible. It was so uncomfortable, I couldn't even fall asleep on it. Of course our middles and bottom halves of our bodies are the heaviest part. Well the way the air flow through the chambers is set up makes the air from underneath your heavier parts push up to your head/neck/shoulders area. No matter how full, or soft I adjusted to air to be, it felt like a rock under my shoulder (most important part for a side sleeper. I even let so much air out that I was sinking in the thing and it still wouldn't budge under my shoulder causing me to smash it. Best material in the market! This is truly the ultimate air mattress. I'm a large guy, 250+ lbs. Most air mattresses stretch or leak the first time I try to use them. Not this one. Additionally, it's possible to get this mattress so firm that you'll feel like you are laying on a board. It doesn't lose any firmness while you sleep like every other air mattress I've tried (I think most others lose firmness because the stretch.) I think the price premium for this mattress is completely worth the extra money.
